Who We Are BlackHawk Mill is a furniture design studio and woodworking shop with facilities in Arizona and Virginia. I`m the founder, David Anderson. I worked in the advertising business for 20 years, but a few years ago I decided it might be nice to create something actually useful for a change. My art and design background are serving me well in my new passion, designing and building furniture of the highest quality. How We Work The pieces shown here on the website are are all original designs and are available as depicted. Also bear in mind, since each piece is built to order there are many options as to size, finish etc. Any of these designs can be easily adapted to suit your particular needs. Feel free to call me and we can discuss any particular needs or design ideas you may have. Also, we can work from photographs or sketches if you have a custom piece in mind but see nothing like it here. The Process After our consultation, a design is drawn and presented to each client for approval prior to the beginning of construction. This drawing shows not only the dimensions and style of the piece, but finish color, wood and hardware specs as well. Once you are happy with all the elements, we will begin building your piece. We will email you digital photos of your piece during construction to apprise you of our progress. Upon completion, your piece will be shipped to you fully assembled and ready for use. Materials and Techniques Everything we make is built to last, using both traditional hand cut joinery and state-of-the-art techniques. We work with pine recycled from old barns and farmhouses, as well as oak, maple and walnut cut and kiln-dried on premises.
